THE KRASNOYARSK ECONOMIC FORUM-2017 HAS FINISHED

The Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum "Russian Economy: Agenda 2017-2025" has been declared closed today, on April 22. The main issues discussed at the forum were strategic steps needed to be taken for the development of Russia in the medium term and the introduction of modern management technologies.

The KEF sites were attended by more than 5 thousand people from 20 countries and over 50 regions of Russia. More than 100 events including 65 discussion areas and brainstorming sessions were organized.

Forum’s discussions were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maksim Oreshkin, heads of federal ministries and departments, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Siberian Federal District Sergei Menyaylo, regional governors, heads of largest companies, representatives of the expert community and public organizations.

Governor Victor Tolokonsky at the final press conference claimed that the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum once again confirmed its relevance for the country.

"We have been talking a lot about the challenges and decisions that must be taken by the state, business and society. After analyzing the results of the forum we are intended to submit our proposals to the Government of the Russian Federation and other state institutions and expect them to be taken into consideration in the nearest future", Victor Tolokonsky said.

Arkady Dvorkovich expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the forum for such a feature of Krasnoyarsk forum as brainstorming sessions and confirmed that the results of discussions will be taken into account while making comprehensive plan of the Government until 2025. "We heard about 70-80 ideas at the final plenary meeting Soon the protocol of the meetings and other reports on the discussions will be submitted for future work", the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Arkady Dvorkovich noted that "high priority projects important for the residents of Siberia and the whole country" will be discussed at the next Economic Forum in Krasnoyarsk. "We will determine the discussion format later", said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Maksim Oreshkin summarized the main ideas discussed at the forum. "Transparency and predictability of state actions in all areas are in demand. Need for clear rules and systematic approach is evident for everyone. All the proposals will be considered by the Government", Minister explained.

In the days of the forum 45 agreements were signed between state authorities, business, and public organizations. Krasnoyarsk Krai has concluded more than 30 agreements on deep processing of timber, infrastructure projects which are necessary for business development, agricultural programmes, and development of high-tech industries. One of the most urgent matters is environmental protection. A report will be submitted to Special Representative of the President on environmental protection and transport Sergei Ivanov.

One of the side events organized at the forum’s venues was the exhibition where 36 small and medium-sized businesses presented their products.
